《秋葵》为萧也牧的小说集，包含《秋葵》《连绵的秋雨》《张老汉跳崖》《地道里的一夜》等多篇短篇小说。《秋葵》讲述了抗战期间，战地医院护士秋葵，秘密藏匿和保护生病的八路军战士“我”——老白的惊险故事。《连绵的秋雨》回忆了战争年代，部队医院医务员李小乔带三位伤病员转移、脱险的情节；两位年轻女兵肩负重任，勇敢无畏，显示了革命战士的高尚品格。《张老汉跳崖》的张老汉和日寇同归于尽，萧也牧的作品主要展现的是老区人民在抗日战争、解放战争中，在党的领导下同敌人搏斗的事迹，以及对敌斗争中历尽艰苦、英勇奋斗、不怕牺牲、前赴后继的精神；叙述了亲切的军民关系。

萧也牧(1918—1970)，原名吴承淦，又名吴小武，作家，浙江吴兴人。1937年，抗日战争爆发，积极参加抗日救亡活动。后考入临汾山西民族革命大学，在晋察冀边区，先后担任《救国报》编辑、《前卫报》编辑、铁血剧社演员、宣传队干事、记者等。1945年8月加入中国共产党，担任张家口铁路分局工人纠察队副政委。后曾在华北《时代青年》负责出版工作。新中国成立后，曾在中共中央宣传部工作，后调中国青年出版社任编辑、文学编辑室副主任。著有《秋葵》《山村纪事》等。
